Alex's Bio

B/R World Football Writer of the Year 2008.
B/R Staff Editor
Alex is both a history (BA) and journalism (MA) graduate, which is only impressive when you consider they are just about the only combination of degrees that guarantee you won't get a job in the current economic climate.
Nevertheless, Alex hopes to one day make it as a sports journalist of the highest level. If nothing else, a man can dream.
In the meantime, Alex is working hard on honing his craft right here on Bleacher Report. As a Staff Editor he is mainly responsible for the World Football and Cricket sections of the site, editing contributions and polishing them where needed. If you write for either sections, chances are he will look over your work more than once. Don't worry about thanking him for any edits he makes however — the nominal fee he gets from the company bigwigs every two weeks is the only thanks he needs.
When he has time, Alex also likes to contribute regularly with articles of his own. He likes to think they are thoughtful, engaging, and regularly on the money, but many readers would doubtless disagree. Nevertheless, he has had pieces published on both Fox Sports and CBS, so he must be doing something right.
Alex is a Crystal Palace fan, which rather undermines his assertion that he is an expert on the beautiful game. However, he also would consider himself knowledgeable when writing about golf (for what it's worth, he has a 6 handicap), cricket, Formula 1... well, pretty much any mainstream sport you care to mention.
